June '99 news
Ellen has learned Nothing in the last 3 months...kidding. Her favorite topics of conversation are dogs, babies, ducks, and shoes. She points and says "sky" every time she hears a plane. Because Kathy was a linguistics major, she is taking a special interest in Ellen's language development by keeping a list of her words and how she pronounces them.

Some of Ellen's favorite games are stacking blocks, hiding, and tumbling on the sofa. Her favorite foods are crackers, carrots, and plain yogurt with fresh strawberries. Last week she went to see Dad's matinee show at Magicopolis, politely sitting through the first half and even applauding. After intermission, though, she had had enough show for one day.

March '99 news
Ellen is now about 20 pounds and walks and runs everywhere. She loves picking flowers in the garden, taking her bath, "reading" magazines, and going out just about anywhere. Still sleeping from 8 p.m. to 6-7 a.m. Favorite foods: pizza, strawberries, bananas. Favorite toys: Ernie, PushNScoot Racer, Pop Up Pets, and any ball. Favorite place to go: Lindberg Park. Basic Vocabulary: no, shoe, mama, dada, baby, doggie, di (diaper), ba (bye-bye, balloon, bird, ball, or bread).
We had a lot of fun at her first birthday party on February 7. Her little friends Arabella, Layla, and Gregory were there, along with other family and friends.
